Room 5 – St. Catharine's

Sct. Catharinæ Church and Monastery is one of the oldest and best preserved monasteries in Denmark. Here monks and nuns have lived a quiet life of prayer, care and work since the Middle Ages. The place has a special tranquility, and if you walk through the monastery courtyard today, you still feel the same peace that has characterized the place for centuries.

The story of St. Catharinæ is a reminder of another time, when faith and community were the focal point of everyday life. The monastery is still open to visitors.
