Room 4 – The Guard's Room

The watchmen have been a part of Ribe's cityscape for centuries. With their lanterns, they walked the streets and created security while the rest of the city slept. They were night watchmen and messengers, a tradition that still lives on in Ribe today.

You can still experience the guards on an evening walk through Ribe's cobblestone streets from May to October.
