Ribe Cathedral was built approximately 1150 - 1250 and it is the oldest cathedral in Denmark. The tower was constructed around 1300 and is 52 metres tall. You can enter through the cathedral.

Climbing the stairs of the tower, you will find a small museum dislaying the history of the cathedral.

At the museum Ribes Vikinger you can learn about the history of Ribe from the Viking Age to the 1700s. More at: www.ribesvikinger.dk

Presently, archaeologists are excavating next to the cathedral. In the remains of a fire in the year 2000 they have found, among other things, a cemetery wall from c. 1738.
